The funeral of George D. Brent, beloved husband of Charlotte A. Brent, who departed this life Monday, July 4, 1904, took place at Allen A. M. E. Church, Thursday, July 7th, at 2.30 p.m. Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. J.W. Norris. Mr. Brent was a member of the Grand and Subordinate Lodge of the G.U.O. of Nazarites. He was also a member of the Good Hope Lodge. Mr. Brent leaves a widow and three sons, William, Geo. T., and H. D. Brent. Resolutions were offered by the Trustees, represented by Mr. Thos. Scribner, also the Stewardesses, represented by Mrs. Deshields, also the Gold Leaf, represented by Mrs. Mollie Bowen, also the Literary and C. and L. Association, represented by Miss J. Jones. A solo entitled, “Rest,” was sung by Mr. Butler. Those officiated were the Rev. J. B. Warner, former pastor Rev. Jos. Murry, Rev. Jos. Butler and others. Interment in Mt. Auburn Cemetery. Funeral in charge of Undertaker Eailey.
